Ciencia de la Zona Crítica en Sistemas Naturales e Intervenidos
Junto con Pamela Castillo (UdeC), Marco Pfeiffer (UChile) y Tania Villaseñor (UOh) les invitamos a enviar sus resúmenes a la sesión de la Zona Crítica del XVI Congreso Geológico Chileno a celebrarse entre el 28 de noviembre y el 1 de diciembre en Santiago de Chile.
Esta sesión se centra en los procesos de evolución del paisaje y los ecosistemas a partir de la meteorización y la erosión, la pedogénesis, y la fuente y destino de nutrientes, solutos y sedimentos. Invitamos investigaciones enfocadas en sistemas naturales e intervenidos que estudien procesos superficiales a escalas del mineral, pedón, ladera, cuenca o globales. Esperamos contribuciones de estudios de terreno y experimentos de laboratorio como también investigaciones basadas en modelos numéricos que establezcan comparaciones dentro y entre múltiples sitios, a cualquier escala temporal y espacial.
La invitación es abierta a trabajos en las disciplinas de:
– Edafología
– Geomorfología
– Hidrología e Hidrogeología
– Geoquímica y Biogeoquímica
– Ecología
– Geofísica superficial

Critical Zone Science in Natural and Managed Systems
Together with Pamela Castillo (UdeC), Marco Pfeiffer (UChile) and Tania Villaseñor (UOh) we invite you to submit an abstract to the Critical Zone session at the XVI Chilean Geological Congress. Save the date for November 28th and December 1st in Santiago, Chile.
This session will focus on landscape and ecosystem evolution processes from weathering and erosion, pedogenesis, and the source and fate of nutrients, solutes, and sediments. We welcome investigations of natural and managed systems studying surface processes at the mineral, pedon, hillslope, watershed, and global scales. We expect contributions from field studies and laboratory experiments to numerical modeling research at single and multi-site comparisons at various temporal and spatial scales.
We invite contributions from the following disciplines:
– Soil Science
– Geomorphology
– Hydrology and Hydrogeology
– Geochemistry and Biogeochemistry
– Ecology
– Surface Geophysics
